Molding Cores for Investment Casting
LMG Genesis II transfer presses are selected over the competition for the ability to produce cores with higher quality than any other brand of transfer molding press. Reasons for this include the ability to accurately control mold heat and the ability to save mold recipes but the factor that differentiates the LMG transfer press from all others is the profiling capability of the transfer ram that allows the material to flow into the cavity at the optimum velocity and pressure to produce the cores for turbine and jet propulsion engines with the most intricate geometry.
These transfer presses are available from 16 tons up to 300 tons.
PRESS FEATURES
To ensure the highest degree of precision, performance and safety, LMG’s standard Genesis II Transfer Press includes the following features:
- Large Color Touchscreen for easy access and entry of process set points for temperature, velocity and pressure profiles. If your operators have ever used a Windows-based program, they will already know how to operate our touchscreen. Just like in a Windows-based program, the operator can open a pop-up window by simply pressing a button on the screen.
- User configurable windows allows the operator, setup person, supervisor or engineer to select the information for display that they need to see. Unnecessary screen clutter and information overload are eliminated.
- Process monitoring for real time visual aid to manage your process. Examples: Actual hydraulic or material pressure, clamp position, current profile number, cycle time remaining, cycle count
- Touchscreen adjustable closed loop pressure control provides accurate process pressure control.
- Touchscreen adjustable proportional speed control provides for maximum productivity
- Alarms provide problem descriptions and indicate corrective action to take, resulting in increased uptime.
- User friendly menu driven system guides the operator through each screen for quick and easy operation.
- Recipe system saves job data to the operator interface memory for later recall. All process setpoints including heat setpoints and alarm limits are saved to the recipe.
- Three levels of password protected security for setpoints and calibrations so that they can be locked out to prevent unauthorized changes
- Robust Allen Bradley PLC for machine control
- Clamp and Transfer digital position transducers eliminates limit switch adjustments and allows for very accurate and repeatable positioning
- Mold Protection – low pressure clamp closing with precise and repeatable position control to offer a very high degree of protection for your molds
- Integrated four zone Electronic Heat Control System. Temperature setpoints and actual values displayed and changed from the touchscreen operator interface
- High performance PID control with Autotune function.
