The new Lawton Data Acquisition System can inform the user if his compression or transfer molding press is performing to the parameters that are set in the controller of the press. The unit can be installed on any compression or transfer press. Important molding parameters such as clamp pressure, clamp position, transfer pressure, transfer pressure and mold temperatures can be displayed and recorded onto a laptop computer.
The user can program the trigger to start data collection by a position or pressure during the cycle, the amount of data points that should be collected, the number of samples that can be collected per cycle, the cycle time to reset and arm the trigger for the next cycle, the zero value of each channel of position or pressure and the scaling of the trend screen.
Questions such as, “Is the press closing parallel”? , “Are the set pressures being achieved”? , “Are the thermocouples reading the proper temperature?” among many others can be answered.
The system will give the user the information needed to make adjustments in his press to achieve optimum molding results. The system includes the software to be loaded on a laptop computer.
The LMG Die Separator is designed and built to provide a safe and efficient method of separating dies and molds horizontally. The opening of the dies is electrically driven. Once the die is open and the separator reaches its end position both die halves can be tilted up 90°. Now each mold half is situated as though it was sitting on a table with the cavity / core side up. This allows the tool maker or maintenance technician easy access to work on the mold or die.
